Gnome Chronicle

If you’re thinking “Wall Street types,” don’t think “gnomes.” Gnomes are working-class Joes who know how to pinch a dime. I mean, haven’t you seen their duds? They don’t throw out the old red hat every season and buy a new one. No way! They wear their hats decade after decade, mending holes as they arise and reinforcing seams. They wouldn’t waste two cents on a new hat.

So when the gnomes heard that humans are suffering because of the shenanigans of Wall Street types, they decided to do something about it.

Gnomes are peace-loving creatures, so they wouldn’t support the
obvious solution: Storm the castle and guillotine the bastards! No, that’s not their style. Instead they’ve decided to offer their Gnomeland Security tee-shirts at a below-cost price of $9.99.

That’s right: $9.99 for your very own Gnomeland Security tee

Support the gnomes that support you.

Springtime is Gnometime! ~ April 2008

Spring is here, that season when gnomes come out of winter hiding and show up on garden pathways across the Northern Hemisphere.
So that you don't miss a single little person who may be lurking on your lawn, Heidi, the gnomesense.com business director,
has assembled a list of where to look for gnomes this spring:
  • Let's face it, many gnomes are lazy. They like to do as little work as possible and then take a good, long nap. Their favorite places to nod off are wheelbarrows and overturned watering cans. In fact, yesterday, I found four gnomes snuggled up under a rusted wheelbarrow in my backyard. Checkout your garden equipment, & have a camera ready!
  • Gnomes who have been sleeping all winter are hungry when they wake up. Good spots to see sleepy-eyed gnomes are bird feeders, where they'll be scrambling for seeds, and dog-chow dishes, where they'll pilfer a few kibbles while Rover is chasing a squirrel. If you think it's the birds or your mutt who has the hearty appetite, think again.
  • Most people think gnomes are stick-in-the-muds when it comes to fashion - they've been wearing boots and red hats for centuries with never a thought to updating their wardrobe. Nothing is further from the truth.
  • In a 2007 study by Drs. Hans Johannson and Sven Peterson from the Gnomology Department of the University of Sweden,
it was found that gnomes spend a full 70 percent of their dream time in high-end boutiques and trendy clothing stores, looking
for a new look. When they awake from their winter slumbers, the first things they often spy are brightly colored spring shirts, skirts, and scarves fluttering in a gentle spring breeze on an unsuspecting human's clothesline. So, if some of your duds are missing from your line, you can be sure gnomes are to blame. They probably took your pink party dress and cut it into a hundred pieces to make spiffy pants they wear only in secret ceremonies held in nearby dales and glens. Best to use a dryer during the spring months.
Have fun with the wee creatures and don't get too upset with their thievery.
They have more "fluid" notions of ownership than we do—a topic for another post.

Gnomesense Road Tour ~ December 2007
Car
Like young wayfarers in tales of old, Heidi and Aaron will be setting out on the road to fame, adventure, and
riches after the merry tides of Christmas have passed. On Dec. 26, we will head north along the Pacific Coast
in search of store owners who would be delighted to carry our wares. Over a period of two weeks, we will make
the rounds from Long Beach to Portland and back. Should you, dear gnome lover, wish to give sage advice for this journey,
please whisper in our ears about funky boutiques and bazaars in your neck of the woods. Or better yet, send us an email.
Perchance we will even encounter one another along the way.
